Paramount Airways Pvt. Ltd is in talks with aircraft makers Boeing Co. and Airbus Industrie to buy six wide-bodied planes with an aim of launching international operations by fiscal 2011. Join
The airline, which has so far restricted itself to southern India with an all-Embraer fleet of five leased aircraft, also plans to establish a new aircraft maintenance facility in Madurai in collaboration with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica SA at an estimated $40-60 million (Rs161-242 crore) investment.
“We are evaluating both wide-bodied aircraft—(Boeing’s) 787 and 350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body of Airbus),” said Paramount’s chairman M. Thiagarajan on the airline’s growth plans. He did not specify when the deal could be sealed.
Dinesh Keskar, vice-president for sales at Boeing, confirmed initial talks with Paramount.
Paramount’s five 70-seater aircraft are capable of flying four hours non-stop and may also connect nearby destinations in South-East Asia such as Singapore if the government relaxes rules for flying international routes.

Trainee Captains Join
1. Rated on Multi Engine Jets: Pilots with an Indian ALTP, minimum flying experience of 3000 hours of which PIC experience of 500 Hours on transport category Jets or 1000 hours on non-transport category Jets is mandatory.
2. Rated on Multi Engine Turbo-props: Pilots with an Indian ALTP, minimum flying experience of 3500 hours of which PIC experience of 1000 hours on Multi Engine Turbo-props.
First Officer
1. Rated on Jets: Pilots with an Indian CPL or higher, minimum flying experience of 1000 hours of which Co-Pilot experience of 250 hours on Multi engine Jets is mandatory.
2. Rated on Turbo-props: Pilots with an Indian CPL or higher, minimum flying experience of 1500 hours of which Co-Pilot experience of 500 hours on Turbo-props is mandatory.
Trainee Pilots:
Pilots with valid Indian CPL, minimum experience as per Indian DGCA requirements for the issue of CPL.
All pilots for the crew positions in Paramount Airways must have a valid Indian License/ FRTO/COP/RTR, current IR, valid class I Medical and Multi-engine rating on the license on the date of the interview.
Flight Operations Engineering:
Experience in handling Aircraft Performance Manuals.
Scheduling/Rostering Officers:
Related experience in an airline. Knowledge of MS office essential.
Dispatchers:
Experienced Dispatchers with minimum 1-year experience.
Flight Safety Instructors:
Experience in Commercial Jets. Approved Trainers preferred.
Cabin Crew:
Candidates with pleasant personality in the age group of 18-26 years, good height (minimum 157 cms for women and 170 cms for men), normal eyesight, completed 10+2, fluent in English, Hindi and any one regional language.
